Type Test runs the typing exercise in your browser. It does not need an account, and it does not send your typed text to the Type Test application.
What this site stores
To show your recent results and personal best when you return, the page stores up to 20 WPM and accuracy results, each result's time and test mode, and your best WPM in this browser's local storage. It does not store the prompt you typed, the text of your keystrokes, or an account identifier.
Select Clear saved results on the test page to remove those result values. You can also clear this site's browser storage in your browser settings. Clearing storage removes the saved best and history.
Advertising
Advertising is currently disabled. The site contains an optional Google AdSense placement that does not load an advertising script unless the site owner configures an approved publisher and ad unit and completes the required consent setup.
If ads are enabled, third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this site or other sites. Google's advertising cookies allow Google and its partners to personalize and measure ads based on those visits. You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings or at aboutads.info.
If additional ad networks are enabled, this notice will identify them and link to their privacy and advertising opt-out information. Required consent choices will be configured before ads are served, including a Google-certified consent management platform for personalized ads to visitors in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland.
This version has no sign-in, server-side leaderboard, analytics tag, or third-party font request.
Hosting requests

Children and personal information
The typing test does not ask you to enter personal information. Avoid pasting private text into a practice field; the test only needs the displayed prompt. If this site adds a feature that collects personal information, this page will be updated to describe it.

Features can change, so this page will be revised if the app's storage or third-party services change. The date below identifies this version of the notice.
